Historic Downtown

Historic Downtown Louisville is the heart of the City. 100 year old wooden buildings line Main and Front streets and are home to well over 100 businesses including restaurants, pubs, unique retail, and a wide variety of professional services. The museum is here and the new 32,500 sq ft public library opened in July of 2006.

In the winter you can bring your family downtown for the Parade of Lights and old-fashioned outdoor ice-skating at WinterSkate. Summer brings swimming and bocce ball in Memory Square Park, the Taste of Louisville, and 9 Friday nights of the Louisville Downtown Street Faire; a celebration of friends, family and community—not to mention great music.

The future of Historic Downtown includes a station on a passenger train line that will bring new visitors to Louisville and provide alternative transportation to both Denver and Boulder.

The four square blocks that comprise Historic Downtown Louisville provide residents, workers, and visitors with an authentic small town American experience.
